Abstract

In facing the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literacy is very important for students to develop. This correlational research aimed to identify the relationship between the usage of learning strategies and ICT literacy among undergraduate students. A total of 131 undergraduate students from a public university were selected as samples using cluster random sampling. Two instruments were developed and adapted to measure the usage of learning strategies and ICT literacy. Findings showed that the undergraduate students had high usage of learning strategies, there is a significantly positive and moderate relationship between the usage of learning strategies and ICT literacy among the undergraduate students. Strategies of elaboration, critical thinking, metacognitive, rehearsal, time and study environment, help seeking, organization and peer learning strategies have a positive and significant relationship with ICT literacy. In addition, a significant regression model has been developed and critical thinking strategy is the best predictor for the undergraduate students’ ICT literacy. In conclusion, active usage of learning strategies has the potential to help undergraduate students acquire ICT literacy. This study provides an overview of the use of learning strategies in TMK literacy learning, where it has not been optimized and can be improved by expanding the use of critical thinking strategies in ICT literacy learning.
