KAJIAN KUANTITATIF MENGENAI PRESTASI AKADEMIK HUFFAZ DAN PENCAPAIAN HAFAZAN MEREKA (A quantitative Study of the Relationship Between Huffaz’ Academic Achievement and Their Quran Memorization Performance)

ABSTRAK

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti unsur kecerdasan dominan huffaz berdasarkan teori kecerdasan pelbagai atau Multiple Intelligence (MI) bagi meningkatkan prestasi akademik dan prestasi hafazan al-Quran huffaz dengan menggunakan kaedah analisis regresi logistik. Di samping itu, kajian ini turut mengkaji hubungan antara prestasi hafazan al-Quran dan prestasi akademik huffaz. Kajian melibatkan 130 orang pelajar beraliran tahfiz, 79 orang pelajar lelaki (60.8 peratus) dan 51 orang pelajar perempuan (39.2 peratus) dari empat buah sekolah tahfiz. Model logistik binomial telah digunakan bagi meramalkan faktor yang mempengaruhi prestasi akademik dan hafazan huffaz. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan kejayaan huffaz dalam prestasi hafazan al-Quran adalah merupakan pemacu utama yang mendorong kecemerlangan prestasi akademik. Selain itu, kajian mendapati huffaz yang mempunyai kecerdasan linguistik dan kecerdasan rohani yang tinggi lebih berpotensi untuk mendapatkan prestasi hafazan yang cemerlang. Hasil penelitian juga mendapati kecerdasan visual merupakan kecerdasan dominan dalam kalangan huffaz manakala rangsangan terhadap kecerdasan visual sewaktu pengajaran dan pembelajaran meningkatkan peluang mendapatkan keputusan akademik yang cemerlang.

ABSTRACT

The aims of this study are (1) to identify dominant intelligence based on Gardner’s multiple intelligence theory to improve their academic and Quran memorization performances, (2) to explore the relationships between academic achievement and Quran memorization performance. Subjects of the study were 130 tahfiz students, consisted 79 male (60.8 percent) and 51 female (39.2 percent) from four different tahfiz schools. Binomial logistic model have been used to predict the factors that influence academic achievement and Quran memorization performance. Results show that the success of huffaz in Quran memorization drives excellence in academic performance. Besides, results indicate that huffaz whose dominant intelligences are linguistic and spiritual are more likely to memorize the Quran better. Visual intelligence is traced as the dominant intelligence among huffaz while stimulation of visual intelligence during teaching and learning process will enhance the chances of them obtaining excellent academic performance.
