WARISAN KEGEMILANGAN PENDIDIKAN ISLAM DI MALAYASIA ANDALUS (The Glorious Heritage of Islamis Education in Andalus)
Abstract
ABSTRAK
Makalah ini menganalisis kerangka asas dari falsafah pendidikan yang dibangunkan dalam sejarah dan tamadun Islam di Andalus. Permasalahan kajian adalah bagaimana merealisasikan kegemilangan peradaban dan pendidikan Islam yang dicapai di Andalus dalam pemberdayaan pendidikan dan intelek di Malaysia. Objektif kajian adalah bagi membahaskan konsep pendidikan dan pemikiran yang berkembang di Andalus pada kurun ke-8 hingga ke-14 M (92/711H-897/1492M). Kaedah pendidikan yang dirangka daripada faham tauhid ini telah mencetuskan kebangkitan akliah dan menghasilkan tradisi pemikiran yang dinamik dan progresif. Metode kajian adalah berdasarkan kajian perpustakaan yang menyorot dan menganalisis penulisanpenulisan klasik dan moden yang menghuraikan tentang sejarah dan asas pendidikan Islam di Andalus. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif dalam menganalisis sumber dan data. Ia berusaha menghuraikan falsafah dan praktik pendidikan ini dan sumbangannya dalam menggembleng harakat pendidikan dan peradaban yang bertahan selama lebih lapan abad di Andalus. Dapatan kajian mendapati bahawa Andalus telah membawa pencerahan ilmu dan budaya yang bermakna dan meletakkan asas yang penting dalam pendidikan yang dapat dikembangkan dan dipugar dalam kursus pengajian Andalus (Andalusian Studies) di Malaysia.
ABSTRACT
This article analyzes the foundation of educational philosophy that flourished in the 8th to 14th CE Andalus (92/711-897/1492). The problem of study is how to realize and concretize the Islamic ideal of education as projected in Andalus in ennabling intelectual creativity and educational reform in Malaysia. The objective of study is to analyzed and discussed its underlying concept that was constructed on tawhidic principle and worldview. It has brought forth intellectual and scientific tradition, and giving birth to dynamism and progressive civilization. The method of study is based on library research that thoroughly survey classical and modern works on the history and development of education in Andalus. The source and data were studied qualitatively using inductive, deductive and analytical approach. It strives to outline its educational philosophy and its contribution in educational practice and intellectual tradition which lasted for 8 centuries in Andalus. The finding shows that Andalus had brought forth unprecedented enlightenment of science and culture and manifested and established important principle in education that could be developed in the course of Andalusian Studies in Malaysia.
