Penilaian Kemahiran Interaksi Lisan Melalui Ujian e-Lisan Lembaga Peperiksaan dan Penilaian Singapura (SEAB) (Assessment of Spoken Interaction Skills through e-Oral Tests Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB))
Abstract

ABSTRACT: This paper shares key findings of using an oral test to assess spoken interaction skills at the primary level in Singapore schools. The oral test focuses on the conversation component which requires both testers and test takers to engage in an interactive conversation. The oral test also harnesses the benefits of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) by using a short video clip as the test stimulus. The design and the assessment criteria of the e-Oral test were examined to ensure alignment to the construct of spoken interaction. A field test was first carried out to find out the accessibility of e-Oral tests by the test takers and the comparability with the existing oral test using a picture as a stimulus. Practice sessions were also administered to ensure both testers and test takers are familiar with the e-Oral test format. Students’ and teachers’ feedback were gathered to evaluate the effects, impact and their readiness of such computer-based e-Oral tests. Generally, students and teachers reported positive experiences.
