KEBOLEHCAPAIAN KHIDMAT BANTU DI RUMAH DI LUAR BANDAR: PERSPEKTIF KERJA SOSIAL KOMUNITI

Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the needs of the care needed by elderly through the Home Help Services Program in rural communities. The main purpose of the study is to review the accessibility at Home Help Services Program and the role of social workers in improving the quality of the program. This qualitative research was conducted in the vicinity of Kampung Gajah, Perak and a total of 10 respondents were selected at snow ball to be interviewed in depth. The results showed that the required level by the respondent is to improve the welfare of senior citizens in terms of mobility requirements, healthcare, financial, social and emotional care. Meanwhile, a survey of the accessibility of the program is reflected in the demand for mobility, health care, social, and emotional skills of volunteers in care for the elderly which can be met through the Home Help Services Program. The study concluded that the role of social workers is essential for improving the quality of service program at Home Help Care for the elderly in rural areas and appropriate actions to be taken by stakeholders to meet the requirements needed by the elderly, especially those living in rural areas.
