Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

Authorship: All authors should contributes intellectually to the submitted article. The corresponding author is required to copy (or CC) the journal submission to all other co-authors at every stage. Adding new author(s) is not allowed after the article is fully accepted for publication.

Originality: Manuscripts submitted to the journal should be original contributions to their field and should only be the work of the stated author(s). Manuscripts should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time, or to be already published.

Language: The journal accepts manuscripts written in English or Malay. The authors may use either British or American English, provided that only one style is used (consistently) throughout the manuscript (exclusive of bibliography). When an article is submitted in a language not the authors' own, they are encouraged to seek professional editing services. 

Manuscript: Articles should be not exceeding 8000 words. Review articles can be more than 8000 words. Book reviews are nomarlly by invitation and should not exceed 1000 words. The number of words does not include tables, figures and annexes.

To facilitate the review process, the author`s details are not to be included in the manuscript. Please attach a separate page which carries the following information:

1. Name of the author(s).

2. Title of the article. Where articles are submitted in Malay the title should also be provided in English.

3. Abstract of the article is preferably between 200 and 300 words. Article in Malay should be provided with abstract in English. Abstract should contains an introduction, method, important results and discussion.

4. Full institutional address.

5. Author(s) email(s) and contact details.

6. Up to 5 relevant keywords.

7. Statement of the exact length of the article.

Articles, review articles and book reviews should be double spaced (including notes and references).

Tables and Figures: Should be embedded in the text

Quotations: Quoted words, phrases and sentences should be enclosed in double quotation marks. Quotations within quotations should be enclosed in single quotation marks. Italicize non-English terms or phrases in manuscripts written in English, and italicize non-Malay terms or phrases in manuscripts written in Malay. Quotations may be either run-in or, in the case of quotations which are four lines or longer, set off from the text as block quotations.

References:  Authors should use Chicago Manual of Style for references format. Notes should be kept to a minimum. Footnotes should be not use in the manuscript.

It is the author`s responsibility to ensure that where copyright materials are included within an article the permission of the copyright holder has been obtained beforehand.

 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  7. All authors are aware and agree to the submitted version of the manuscript.
 

Copyright Notice

By submitting manuscripts to the Jebat, authors agree to transfer copyright to the journal. However, authors may republish their work or grant others permission to republish it; in which case it should be accompanied by a proper acknowledgment that the work was originally published in the Jebat.

The journal adopt CC-BY-NC licence which authors may also share and distribute their article anywhere of non-commercial website, social media and repositories immediately on publication. 

Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their published work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) as it can lead greater citation of published work
