Nilai Pendidikan dan Kebijaksanaan Masyarakat Melayu dalam Pantun dan Peribahasa Melayu (Educational Value and Malay Wisdom as seen in the Malay Pantun and Malay Proverbs)

Abstract


ABSTRAK: Pantun dan Peribahasa Melayu mengungkapkan nilai kemasyarakatan, nilai ekonomi, nilai ilmu keagamaan dan nilai pendidikan. Kedua-dua warisan bangsa ini b e g i t u s i n o n i m d e n g a n p e m i k i r a n d a n k e b u d a y a a n masyarakat Melayu, namun kajian terperinci tentang kedua-dua genre ini belum menyeluruh. Justeru tujuan makalah ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti elemen yang mempamerkan nilai pendidikan dan kebijaksanaan masyarakat Melayu yang terdapat dalam pantun dan peribahasa Melayu dan menjelaskan sejauh manakah elemen yang terdapat dalam pantun dan peribahasa Melayu dapat menyingkap nilai falsafah bangsa Melayu. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah analisis dokumen dan kaedah temu bual. Sebanyak 10 orang responden dipilih menggunakan teknik persampelan bertujuan. Data pantun dipilih daripada buku Kurik-kurik Kundi Merah Saga manakala data peribahasa dipilih daripada buku Peribahasa Melayu – Penelitian Nilai dan Makna. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif menggunakan teori beralas (Grounded Theory) dengan berlandaskan pendekatan etnometodologi, teori Kognitif-Konstruktiviti dan pendekatan pragmatik. Hasil kajian mendapati aspek leksikal yang digunakan dalam pantun dan peribahasa jelas mencerminkan aspek pengetahuan, pemikiran, dan falsafah bangsa Melayu. Malahan bentuk bahasa yang diungkapkan dalam pantun dan peribahasa turut mempamerkan nilai pendidikan dan kebijaksanaan bangsa Melayu.

ABSTRACT: Malay Pantun and Malay proverb expressed the social value, economic value, and the value of religious education. Both the nation’s heritage is so synonymous with the thinking and Malay culture, but detail study of these two genres is not comprehensive. Hence the purpose of this paper is to identify elements which demonstrate the value of education and the community wisdom contained in the Malay Pantun, and Malay proverbs and explains to what extent the elements contained in Malay Pantun and Malay proverbs can reveal the philosophy of the Malay community. The method used in this study was document analysis and interview. A total of 10 respondents were selected using purposive sampling technique. Data selected from a book of Malay Pantun, “Kurik Kundi Merah Saga” while Malay proverb was selected data from the book “Malay proverb - The Value and Meaning.” The data were analyzed qualitatively using grounded theory in accordance with ethnomethodology approach, theory of Cognitive-constructivist and pragmatic approach. The study found that aspects of lexical used in Malay Pantun and Malay proverb clearly reflect aspects of knowledge, thinking, and philosophy of the Malay community. More ever the language expressed in Malay Pantun and proverbs also displayed the value of education and the Malay wisdom.
