Abstract

This study aims to know the profile of Shaykh Faisal al-Mubarak and to demonstrate his merit as a scientist with scientific and remedial contributions. This study also reveals the methodology of Shaykh Faisal al-Mubarak, which was interpreted by Tawfiq al-Rahman in the Lessons of the Qur’an. Through the researcher’s reading of the sources and references on the understanding of Shaykh Faisal al-Mubarak, there is no study on his method of composing his interpretation called Tawfiq Rahman in the Lessons of the Qur’an, whether it is from the sources on which he relied and how he dealt with it، or from how he chose himself in Interpreted. For this, he had to stand on such a book, and learn about the method of his author in it. The researcher used to analyze the process of Shaykh Faisal al-Mubarak in his interpretation of the descriptive, analytical and inductive approach, whereby his interpretation is studied, and evidence is followed by generalizing the examples given in his interpretation. The research exposed the direct relationship of his book to the mothers of the books of interpretation, such as the interpretation of Ibn Jahir al-Tabari (310AH) and Ibn Kathir (774AH), as it appeared through the research that Shaykh Faisal al-Mubarak conveyed some of the Israeli and weak hadiths, which is contrary to the approach of his Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Sa‘di in his interpretation of Simplifying the Generous. He was influenced by the Shaykh’s approach in his book, such as scholars and senior writers. Shaykh Faisal’s blessed book was an inducement and encouragement for them to engage in authorship in Islamic sciences، specifically the science of interpretation.
