Konflik kerja-keluarga dalam kalangan penjawat awam wanita (Work-family conflicts among women civil servants)

Abstract


Kredibiliti dan peranan wanita kini menjangkaui ekspektasi apabila wanita hari ini telah dilihat menguasai pelbagai sektor yang dahulunya hanya didominasi oleh kaum lelaki. Senario ini telah meninggalkan kesan yang paling penting ke atas peranan kaum wanita dan memindahkan mereka dari ruang domestik ke dunia pekerjaan. Trend berhenti kerja selepas melahirkan anak menimbulkan persoalan adakah wanita hari ini berdepan dengan konflik peranan kerana kegagalan mengimbangi pelbagai peranan dengan baik mendedahkan kaum wanita kepada implikasi negatif seperti tekanan dan konflik. Objektif kajian ialah mengenalpasti tahap konflik kerja-keluarga dan mengkaji hubungan bagi faktor berkaitan kerja, keluarga, individu dan kewangan dengan konflik kerja-keluarga dalam kalangan penjawat awam wanita di Putrajaya. Kajian ini merupakan kajian kuantitatif yang telah dijalankan terhadap 274 orang responden yang terdiri daripada penjawat awam wanita di Putrajaya. Data yang diperolehi melalui pengedaran borang soal-selidik telah dianalisis menggunakan kaedah deskriptif dan inferensi.  Hasil analisis mendapati penjawat awam wanita di Putrajaya mengalami konflik kerja-keluarga pada tahap sederhana. Hasil analisis korelasi Pearson mendapati faktor berkaitan kerja, keluarga dan kewangan mempunyai hubungan dengan pewujudan konflik kerja-keluarga. Dapatan kajian ini merumuskan bahawa penjawat awam wanita di Putrajaya sedang mengalami konflik peranan dan sekiranya ia tidak ditangani dengan baik berkemungkinan boleh menjejaskan produktiviti mereka pada masa hadapan. Hasil kajian ini diharap boleh dijadikan panduan dalam merangka dasar yang bersesuaian untuk wanita.

The credibility and role of women are beyond the expectation when women of today have been seen to dominate the various sectors that were previously dominated by men. This scenario has left the most important effect on the role of women and transferring them from the domestic space to the working world. The trend of quitting work after childbirth raises the question of whether women today are facing a role conflict because failure to balance the various roles expose women to negative implications such as stress and conflict. The objective of the study is to identify the level of work-family conflict and to study the relationship of factors related to work, family, individuals and finance with the work-family conflict among women civil servants in Putrajaya. This study was a quantitative study conducted on 274 respondents consisted of women civil servants in Putrajaya. The data obtained through the distribution of questionnaires was analyzed using the descriptive and inferential methods. The results of the analysis found that the women civil servants in Putrajaya are experiencing a moderate level of work-family conflict. The result of Pearson correlation analysis found that factors related to work, family and finance had a relationship with the creation of work-family conflict. The findings of this study formulate that the women civil servants in Putrajaya are experiencing role conflicts and if they are not properly addressed that may affect their productivity in the future. The result of this study is expected to be a guide for formulating suitable policies for women.
