Abstract


ABSTRACT

Al-Quran is a revelation from God Almighty and the Sunnah is what comes from the Prophet. The most understanding person of the Quran and Hadis are the companions of RA. His speech referred to as the hadis mawquf or athar. The scholars interpret the Quran, among others according to the hadis traditions including hadis mawquf. This study aims to explain the methodology of the use of hadis mawquf by Muhammad Sacid bin cUmar in the book of Tafsir Nur al-Ihsan, which is used to ascertain the status of hadis and to present the scholars view thereon. For this purpose, a literature study on a group of related traditions mawquf done by applying knowledge of al-Takhrij. Determination of status mawquf tradition is based on view of the mufassireen and traditions derived from the books of tafsir al-Quran and authentic hadis scripture sermon. The results showed that the hadis mawquf is an important source and widely used in the interpretation to understand the meaning of Quranic verses. However, status of traditions mawquf first need to be ensured that it is very important to ensure understanding of Islam do not mix with other elements such as israiliyyat. This study further showed that sanad and the narrators of a hadis is very important to ensure authenticity. This study identified a total of nine mawquf authentic hadis, the six hadis hasan mawquf, 19 hadis mawquf dacif, seven hadis mawquf mawduc and eight hadis mawquf with uncertain status; a discovery that could facilitate the maximum use of this book. This explanation shows the importance of authenticity to ensure that the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah remains pure as delivered by the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
