Personaliti Bapa Menurut Perspektif Islam dan Aplikasinya dalam Keluarga

Abstract


Bapa sebagai ketua yang memimpin keluarga seharusnya menjadi ‘role model’ kepada isteri dan anak-anak. Personaliti bapa yang baik dapat menjamin kesejahteraan dalam keluarga. Namun ada dalam kalangan bapa yang gagal menunjukkan contoh teladan yang baik kepada keluarga dengan mempamerkan sifat-sifat pemarah, memukul isteri, merogol anak dan seumpamanya. Justeru itu, kajian ini dilakukan bagi mengkaji ciri-ciri personaliti bapa menurut perspektif Islam dan mengenal pasti ciri-ciri personaliti yang diaplikasi oleh bapa dalam kehidupan berkeluarga. Reka bentuk kajian ini ialah kajian tinjauan. Seramai 220 orang responden dalam kalangan bapa telah dipilih secara rawak berlapis di Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN) dan Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM). Data dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan SPSS versi 21. Hasil kajian berjaya membentuk indikator bapa yang baik daripada perspektif Islam seperti bertanggungjawab terhadap anak yang baru dilahirkan, sabar dan ikhlas mencari rezeki dan memberi nafkah, membimbing dan mendidik, berdakwah ‘amar makruf nahi mungkar,’ mempamerkan contoh teladan yang baik kepada anak-anak, adil, penyayang dan prihatin terhadap perkembangan anak-anak. Hasil kajian juga secara jelas menunjukkan para bapa faham tentang tanggungjawab sebagai seorang bapa dan mengaplikasikan elemen-elemen yang seharusnya dimiliki oleh bapa menurut Islam dalam keluarga mereka. Implikasi kajian dapat membantu bapa mengetahui dan mengamalkan personaliti baik yang amat dituntut dalam Islam ke arah membina keluarga yang sejahtera. Di samping itu, kajian ini dapat memberi input dan sumbangan ilmu kepada pihak bertanggungjawab seperti LPPKN dan Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) dalam menguruskan hal ehwal kekeluargaan di Malaysia.

Father’s Personality According to Islamic Perspective and His Application in The Family

As the head of the family, father has a great responsibility. Hence he should show the best example for his children and wife. However, nowadays there are various crises which occurred the within family that tend to be associated with the issue of bad personality of the father such as hot-tempered, incest, physical abuse, and neglecting his role as breadwinner for the family. Therefore this study aims to examine the characteristics of father’s personality from the perspective of Islam and applied in family life. This study adopted a survey method, utilizing questionnaire as the instrument which was distributed to 220 respondents consisting of fathers who participated in parenthood program in NPFDB and Social Welfare Department. The data was analysed by mean of descriptive statistics technique using SPSS software version 22. Results of this research show that the characteristics of father personality that comply with Islamic perspective include being responsible in reciting azan, performing tahnik, giving the good name for their child as well as performing aqiqah for a new born child, being patient and sincere in fulfilling the role as the breadwinner of the family, educate and deliver da’wah to the children, exhibit good examples, being just, treating children with love and concern about the child’s development. The findings also clearly show that fathers understand responsibility as a father and apply the elements that father should have in their family. The implication of this study can help fathers in strengthening their fatherhood personality towards the wellbeing of the family and Muslim community. In addition, this study can provide knowledge contributions to responsible authorities such as NPFDB, Social Welfare Department (SWD) and other similar bodies in managing family affairs in Malaysia.
