PENCIRIAN MEMBRAN DAN OTOT TIMBAL BAGI SPESIES RIANG-RIANG TERPILIH DARI BUKIT FRASER, PAHANG, MALAYSIA

Abstract


Kajian mengenai morfologi dan morfometrik membran dan otot timbal serta histologi otot timbal ini telah dijalankan ke atas tiga spesies riang-riang yang dipilih iaitu Pomponia decem, Pomponia sp.1 dan Terpnosia lactea. Sampel segar diperolehi melalui pensampelan dari Bukit Fraser, Pahang manakala sampel kering dari koleksi Pusat Sistematik Serangga (CIS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.  Membran timbal dan otot timbal ini diasingkan daripada badan dan melalui proses histologi menggunakan pewarna metilena biru dan haematoxylin dan eosin. Hasil mendapati morfologi kasar membran dan otot timbal bagi spesies riang-riang yang dipilih menunjukkan perbezaan terutama pada saiznya. Analisis morfometrik ke atas ketiga-tiga spesies riang- riang ini mendapati bahawa saiz tubuh badan riang-riang mempengaruhi morfometrik membran timbal riang-riang. Spesies P. decem mempunyai purata panjang (80.50±1.92 mm) dan lebar kepala (17.20±1.28 mm) membran timbal paling besar antara dua spesies lain. Kehadiran resilin pada membran timbal didapati berbeza pada setiap spesies dengan P. decem paling tebal manakala T. lactea paling nipis. Bagi aspek histologi pula, bentuk fiber otot kesemua spesies terdiri daripada bentuk mosaik atau poligonal dengan T. lactea menunjukkan bentuk poligonal yang agak berbucu pada bahagian sisi fiber otot berbanding dua spesies lain. Diharapkan perbezaan yang didapati daripada kajian morfometrik dan histologi ini dapat membuktikan mengapa setiap spesies riang-riang mampu menghasilkan bunyi yang spesifik berdasarkan kepada perbezaan ciri rangka dan resilin pada membran serta otot timbal. Penambahbaikan terhadap teknik histologi dalam kajian yang akan datang adalah perlu bagi mendapatkan struktur tisu otot timbal yang lebih terperinci.
