Ciri-ciri Kitaran Hayat Keluarga: Satu Tinjauan ke atas keluarga-keluarga di Lembah Kelang

Kebanyakan penyelidikan yang telah dijalankan adalah mengenai cirl-ciri Kitaran Hayat Keluarga di negeri-negeri Barat. Ciri-Ciri ini agak berbeza dengan ciri-ciri Kitaran Hayat Keluarga di Malaysia. amnya kerana terdapat perbezaan dalam cara hidup, kebudayaan, ekonomi, politik dan lain-lain lagi. Objektif kajian yang dijalankan ini adalah untuk mengenalpasti ciri-ciri Kitaran Hayat Keluarga di Lembah Kelang khasnya. Beberapa tempat di sekitar Lembah Kelang telah dipilih secara rambang untuk menggambarkan keadaan di Malaysia. Hasil kajian yang dijalankan telah mengenalpasti 6 peringkat Kitaran Hayat Keluarga. Peringkat-peringkat Ini termasuk bujang, isirumah tanpa anak. kediaman penuh I (anak di bawah 6 tahun). kediaman penuh II (anak di atas 6 tahun), kediaman penuh III (anak mula meninggalkan keluarga) dan kediaman kasong (anak-anak tidak tinggal bersama). Kajian ini telah mendapati bahwa kebanyakan keluarga-keluarga di Lembah Kelang sekarang berada dalam peringkat bUjang. Kediaman penuh I. kediaman penuh II dan kediaman penuh III. Kajian ini juga telah membuktikan terdapat ciri-ciri perbezaan di antara peringkat-peringkat dalam Kitaran Hayat Keluarga di Lembah Kelang. Dengan mengenalpasti ciri-Ciri perbezaan ini ahli-ahli pemasaran dapat membentuk strategi pasaran yang lebih tepat lagi.


Most researches that have been done were about the characteristics of family life cycle in the Western Countries. These characteristics were quite different in some way or another compared to the family life cycle in Malaysia. generally. because there are differences in the life styles, culture, economy, politics and others. The obJeciive of this study is to identify the characteristics of the family life cycle mainly in Kelang Valley. Several places in the valley have been selected randomly to portray the situation in Malaysia. This study has identified 6 stages of family life cycle. Those stages include bachelorhood, marrIed couples (without children), parenthood (with children under 6 years), parenthood (with children over 6 years), postparenthood and dissolution. The study showed that the majority of the Kelang Valley families are now in stages of bachelorhood, parenthood (with oldest child under 6 years), parenthood (with youngest child above 6 years) and postparenthood. The study has proven that there were differences in the charactenstics in the level of family life cycle In the Kelang Valley with the identificatIOn of these differences in the characteristics, marketers will be able to develop a better marketing strategy to penetrate the market.
