Pengurusan emosi dan stres yang baik amat dititikberatkan dalam kalangan mahasiswa yang berdepan dengan pelbagai tekanan seperti menguruskan masa, menyiapkan tugasan serta melibatkan diri dalam program di universiti. Walaupun begitu, segelintir daripada mereka mengambil pendekatan self-healing yang salah dalam menguruskan tekanan yang akhirnya menjadikan mereka cenderung untuk berlaku kemurungan dan lebih membimbangkan apabila mereka mula terdetik untuk membunuh diri. Pendekatan self-healing menurut Imam Al-Ghazali terdapat tujuh (7) tahap iaitu ilmu, taubat, melawan godaan, menghadapi rintangan, motivasi, menghindari perosak ibadah dan bersyukur. Objektif kajian ini adalah mengkaji hubungan penghayatan self-healing dengan personaliti, hubungan penghayatan self-healing dengan pendapatan ibu bapa dan tahap penghayatan self-healing dengan Institut Pengajian Tinggi (IPT) di Malaysia dan Indonesia. Kaedah kajian adalah secara kuantitatif digunakan dengan kaedah edaran soal selidik terhadap golongan mahasiswa di universiti. Hasil kajian ini mendapat terdapat hubungan yang signifikan di antara penghayatan self-healing dengan personaliti, terdapat hubungan di antara penghayatan self-healing dengan pendapatan ibu bapa dan terdapat hubungan antara tahap penghayatan self-healing dengan Institut Pengajian Tinggi (IPT) di Malaysia dan Indonesia. Impak kajian ini amat penting kepada semua pihak terutamanya ibubapa, guru-guru dan pihak yang bertanggungjawab dalam memberikan didikan dan bimbingan yang terbaik terhadap anak-anak dengan menggunakan pendekatan self-healing dalam memperbaiki personaliti anak-anak zaman moden ini.

Abstract


Effective emotional and stress management is highly emphasized among university students who face various pressures, such as managing time, completing assignments and participating in university programmes. However, some students adopt inappropriate self-healing approaches in coping with stress, which ultimately makes them more susceptible to depression, and more concerningly, may even lead them to contemplate suicide. According to Imam al-Ghazali, the self-healing approach comprises seven (7) stages, namely knowledge, repentance, resisting temptations, confronting challenges, motivation, avoiding acts that damage worship and gratitude. The objective of this study is to examine the relationship between self-healing practices and personality, the relationship between self-healing practices and parental income and the level of self-healing practices across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia and Indonesia. This study employed a quantitative research design using a questionnaire distributed to university students. The findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between self-healing practices and personality, a relationship between self-healing practices and parental income and a relationship between the level of self-healing practices and the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia and Indonesia. The implications of this study are significant for all parties, particularly parents, teachers and those responsible for providing education and guidance to the younger generation, as the self-healing approach can be utilised to improve the personality development of modern-day youth.
