Abstract

It is believable that many scholars and those interested in Arabic may not know the secret of some of the substitution of harakat (short vowel marks) for example from dammah to fathah or from kasrah to fathah, not to mention that they may not know as well the reasons for this dialectic phenomena in the same word among Arab tribes. Therefore, this research will seek to decipher this secret, to clarify the phenomenon of linguistic substitution in the Arabic language in general and the exchange of short vowel marks in particular, to show its truth as well as the various reasons leading to its occurrence and to apply to models of the words of the verses of the al-Qur'an and Hadith with regard to the exchange of harakat (short vowel marks) either from fathah to dammah or fathah to kasrah. The aim of this research is to highlight some dialectic phenomena in the words of the Arabs, to clarify the reasons and factors that led to their emergence, to emphasize the interest in the study and analysis of the words of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith and to highlight the linguistic and rhetorical characteristics. This contributes to the understanding of the Qur’an and the Prophet’s Hadith among students and researchers. The method used in this study is descriptive analytical approach which will be facilitated by describing the locations of the harakat (short vowel marks) of the linguists concerned, indicating where to replace them, linking them with the modern linguists, and then analyzing the applied models in which this phenomenon was mentioned in the Qur'an and the Hadith. One of the expected results that we have reached is that the exchange between the movements of Harakat (short vowel marks) is a manifestation of Jahi Fash in the words of the Arabs, especially those converging in their qualities in which will increase the understanding of the meaning of the context of the Quranic verses or hadith and help scrutinizing the development of judgments and legitimate issues.
