Abstract

Abstract

The success of an entrepreneur depends a lot on his/herreadiness in terms of knowledge, skills and internal strengths, such as emotions, confidence and self-efficacy. Lack in self-efficacy is one of the causes of less involvement of graduates in the field of entrepreneurship. Thus, this study aims to determine the level and impact of entrepreneurial efficacy on the business creation among public university students. This study employed survey research design using a questionnaire as research instrument. The sample consisted of 282 public university students that was selected using a cluster random sampling technique. The data analyses divided into two parts; namely descriptive analysis to determine the score mean or level of entrepreneuril efficacy and business creation. The second method of analysis is structural equation modeling (SEM) to examine the impact of entrepreneurial efficacy on the business creation. The resultindicated that the level of entrepreneurial efficacy as well as business creation are both at a high level. While the structural model showed that the entrepreneurial efficacy has a positive and significant effect on the business creation. Based on the finding, the higher the level of entrepreneurial efficacy of the students, the higher the likelihood of students creating a business after graduation. This study is expected to contribute to the generation of ideas, programs, and entrepreneurial activities to enhance the entrepreneurial efficacy among students.
