Minority Sites and Situations:

English Language Studies in an Age of Evolving Intelligences

This Special Section marks a milestone in the collaborative ethos of 3L: Language, Linguistics, Literature® The Southeast Asian Journal of English Language Studies bringing together the editorial board and its longstanding community of reviewers in a shared act of collegiality. It is curated on the premise that it takes a global village to raise a journal to esteemed heights—and that such heights are best reached through dialogue, trust, and intellectual generosity.

Each article in this collection is the result of a partnership between the 3L editorial board members and reviewers who have shaped the journal’s peer review culture over the years with care and rigour. Together, they reflect on how far English Language Studies—with its sinews of linguistics, literature, and translation—has travelled beyond predictable boundaries into uncharted territories. The section also asks: How might such scholarship engage with and elevate minority sites and situations in an age of evolving intelligences?

Above all, this Special Section stands as testimony to the dedication of the journal’s editors and reviewers to cultivating a culture of reciprocal scholarly commitment and engagement.
